Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (TOS) govern your use of this site and your relationship with us (the "Contract"), the Service and the Application, as well as to all information and/or services provided to you on or through the Website, the Service and the Application.

By accessing this site, you are indicating your acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms of use and privacy policy. These terms of use are subject to change by our company at any time in its discretion. If you do not agree to the Terms of Service, please do not register for or use the Website.

  1. Use of Website / App
    1. The Website / App is provided to you for your personal use subject to the Terms of Service. By using the Website / App you agree to be bound by the Terms of Service.
  2. Registration
    1. You must be 18 years old and over and must complete the registration process in order to participate in our Service.
    2. In order to submit a Delivery Request, we will require your contact number so that we can contact you to facilitate a delivery, if required.
  3. Prohibited Items & Items with limited liability
    1. Alpha Couriers is not a common carrier and carriage of documents or parcels is subjected to conditions set out herein. Alpha Couriers reserves the right to refuse carriage or transportation of any documents or parcels for any person’s firm or company and of any class of documents or parcels at its absolute discretion.
    2. Alpha Couriers reserves the right but not the obligation to inspect the documents or parcels consigned by its customers to ensure that all such documents or parcels are capable of carriage to the destination within the standard operating procedures, customs declaration and handling methods of Alpha Couriers, provided that in making this reservation. Alpha Couriers does not undertake to represent that any particular item to be carried is capable of carriage and delivery without infringing the law of any country or state form, to or through which the document or parcel may be carried.
    3. The customer warrants that he or she has complied with all laws and regulations relating to the nature, condition, packing, handling, storage and carriage of the Delivery Items. The User shall not dispatch and Delivery Providers reserve the right to refuse any Delivery Item that is prohibited by law, dangerous or hazardous materials, perishable substances and radioactive material, without limitation:
      1. Explosives, firearms or other offensive weapons, flammable or hazardous materials, poisonous or infectious substances, blood or blood products (whether infectious or not);
      2. Human or animal remains;
      3. Live animals;
      4. Original copies of any record, drawing, document or electronic recording of which duplicates, or copies have not been made and kept by you;
      5. Precious metals and stones; and
      6. Illegal narcotics or drugs.
    4. Alpha Couriers has the right to intercept, hold and investigate the contents of any parcel that is suspected to contain prohibited items and/or is suspected to be related to a case of fraud. Police will be notified if necessary.
    5. Any items classified under the General Prohibitions list as defined under the Singapore Postal Services Regulations 2008, the Health Sciences Authority of Singapore and the latest UPU Regulations. All senders are to note the prohibitions and refer to the relevant authorities when in doubt. Where there is a conflict or contradiction between the Singapore Postal Services Regulations 2008 and UPU Regulations, the Singapore Postal Services Regulations 2008 will take precedence.
  4. Collection & Delivery
    1. Alpha Couriers will only carry documents or parcels which are the customer’s property ad warrants that it is authorised to accept and is accepting these conditions on behalf of itself and also as agent and on behalf of all other for and on behalf of the owner of the Delivered Items. The customer hereby undertakes to indemnify Alpha Couriers against any and all losses, damages and expenses arising from any breach of this warranty.
    2. The customer shall provide in respect of each Delivery Item all necessary information (the "Delivery Information"), including without limitation:
      1. The customer’s name, address (including the postal code and unit number) and telephone number;
      2. The addressee’s name, delivery address (including the postal code and unit number) and telephone number;
      3. Provide an least an image of the item if it is non flat so that delivery driver knows what items they are picking up and size of item; and
      4. Special instructions to be taken in respect of the Delivery Item e.g. "FRAGILE", "PERISHABLE", "DO NOT BEND" etc.;
    3. Alpha Couriers takes all booking data as per the customers input when using the Alpha Crosstrack system, email and/or phone booking. If the collection does not happen within the time slot allocated, it is the customer’s responsibility to inform Alpha Couriers via email of a failed collection. We will then endeavour to rearrange another collection which is convenient to the customer.
    4. Only delivery slip and/or consignment note generated by Alpha Couriers is acceptable for collection and delivery. If the Delivery Slip is not generated or cannot be downloaded, it is the customer's responsibility to inform Alpha Couriers via email. Delivery slip / consignment note MUST be printed out by the customer in good condition.
    5. Alpha Couriers has the discretion and reserves the right to carry customer’s documents or parcels via any route and procedure and by successive carriers and according to its hading storage and transportation methods as Alpha Couriers thinks fit.
    6. Please note that all guaranteed services start once the Delivery Item is collected. If the collection fails, it is the customer's responsibility to inform Alpha Couriers to reschedule for the next collection. No refunds or discount for failed collections.
  5. Charges and Payment
    1. Alpha Couriers undertakes, subject to payment in accordance with RATE(S) notified to the customer from time to time to carry customer’s documents or parcels between destinations agreed between Alpha Couriers and its customer.
    2. All rates quoted by Alpha Couriers for carriage or despatch are exclusive of additional cost such as tax, duties, levies, deposits or outlays incurred on as a result of carriage of customer’s documents or parcels. Should the customer indicate by endorsement in the space provided or on the Consignment Note that the recipients shall be liable for any additional costs as described herein during the carriage of the customer’s documents or parcels, the customer undertakes to indemnify Alpha Couriers for such additional costs incurred in the event of default in payment by the recipient.
    3. Rate quoted are on the basis of immediate acceptance and are subject to withdrawal, or revision irrespective of whether notice is given or not of such withdrawal or revision.
    4. Customers will pay Alpha Couriers via Cash in Singapore dollars, or make payment via cheque or bank transfers.
  6. Cancellation
    1. No cancellation is allowed once a customer taps on the "CONFIRM DELIVERY" button for courier to be confirmed.
    2. Cancellation fee will apply to the customer if Delivery Request is cancelled after it has been confirmed. This may apply where cancellation takes place when the Delivery Provider is on the way to collect the Delivery Item(s) from the Customer, or when the Delivery Provider is delivering the Delivery Item(s) to the recipient.
  7. Surcharges
    1. The delivery service to be provided shall be based on the official quote given and does not include all applicable fees and charges such as:
      1. Excess Weight Charge
        Any document/light parcel/parcel, weighing above the maximum weight, which a surcharge of $1 for every excess kg or part thereof will apply.
      2. Work Processing Charge
        A surcharge of $5 in addition to the quoted rates will apply to any job which requires processing work for every 15 minutes or part thereof. (Airport Cargo Complex, Banks, Foreign Embassies, Marina Bay Sands, Jurong Island, Sentosa and all Government Restricted Areas, etc.)
      3. Restricted Area Entry
        Authorisation remains the consignor’s responsibility. Delays due to access security requirements will not be the liability of Alpha Couriers.
      4. Waiting Time Charge
        Maximum waiting time allowance is 5 minutes, after which a surcharge of $2 for every excess 5 minutes or part thereof will apply.
    2. Alpha Couriers’ support team will notify the customer when cases on weight discrepancy happens or surcharges are imposed.
  8. Delay / Damage / Loss
    1. Alpha Couriers will not be liable for any penalties imposed or loss or damages incurred in the consequence of the customers’ documents or parcels being impounded by Customs or other competent authority. The customer hereby undertakes to indemnify Alpha Couriers against such penalty, loss or damage.
    2. The customer shall be solely responsible for the packing of its documents or parcels including the placing of the documents or parcels in any container which may be supplied to the customer by Alpha Couriers as well as placing them in proper order for carriage. The same shall be collected by Alpha Couriers from the customer’s office premises or such other location as may be specified by the customer. Alpha Couriers shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the customer’s documents or parcel caused by the inadequate or inappropriate packaging. The customer shall have the sole obligation of addressing each consignment of documents or parcels adequately to enable effective delivery to be made by Alpha Couriers. Alpha Couriers shall not be liable for any delay in delivery occasioned by the customer’s failure to comply with its obligation in this respect.
    3. Alpha Couriers shall not be liable for any or all loss, damage and expenses arising as a result of the customer’s failure to comply with its obligations set out in the conditions herein or as a result of the customer’s own negligence.
    4. All lost and damaged parcels have to be reported within twenty-four (24) hours. Lost and damaged parcels reported after the specified time frame will not be eligible for the compensation claim.
  9. Liability & Claims
    1. Alpha Couriers shall be responsible for the customer’s documents or parcels only whilst they are within Alpha Couriers’ control and custody, provided that any loss or damage suffered hereunder is caused by the gross negligence of Alpha Couriers, its servants or agents. Alpha Couriers’ liability for such loss or damage shall be subjected to the amount specified in clause 9.2 hereof. Except as aforesaid, Alpha Couriers shall not be liable in respect of the documents or parcels it carries and in particular shall not be liable for any consequential loss however the same shall arise. The parties herein agree that consequential loss shall be deemed to include without restriction commercial, financial or other direct or indirect loss including loss of interest and utility Alpha Couriers shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by delay or non-performance in the carriage of any document or parcel.
    2. Alpha Couriers’ liability shall under these conditions be limited to the payment by Alpha Couriers by way of liquidated damages of an aggregate sum not exceeding S$50.00 in respect of any one consignment of its customer.
      1. A "document or parcel" shall mean any item accepted by Alpha Couriers for carriage by Alpha Couriers subject to the exclusion and exception set out herein or notified in accordance with Clause 3.
      2. The value of a document or parcel shall be ascertained by reference to its replacement or reconstitution value at the time and place of carriage without reference to its commercial utility to the customer and other items of consequential loss.
    3. Please state your Alpha Courier delivery tracking number and a detailed description of the claim and/or complaint. Allow 2 working days for us to review all details of the claim before we contact you.
  10. Late deliveries
    1. If at any time Alpha Couriers is prevented or delayed from starting, carrying out or completing any of the services because of a strike, lock out, labour dispute, weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown or obstruction of any public or private road or highway or any other cause beyond their control, you shall have no claim for damages against us for any loss that you may suffer as a result provided that, where the delay is caused by the mechanical breakdown of one of courier vehicles, they shall use their best endeavours to provide a replacement vehicle with the minimum delay practicable.
    2. Alpha Couriers shall not in any circumstances be liable for any late delivery or missed delivery or failure to deliver caused by or contributed to by any deficient or ambiguous labelling of a consignment and you agree to be responsible for ensuring that such labelling is clear and unambiguous.
  11. Closure of account
    1. Account holder may close their "Alpha Couriers" account in accordance with the Terms and Conditions stated under "Closure of account" clause. Account holder shall pay off any remaining charges, dispute fee or administration fee as given upon termination.
    2. Account closure may subject to administration fee.
  12. Termination of Contract

    The contract between Alpha Couriers and the customer may be terminated:

    1. Forthwith in the event of either party breaching the conditions; or
    2. Forthwith upon the appointment of a Receiver over the whole or part of the undertaking of either party or act of bankruptcy or (being a corporation) going into liquidation other than for the purpose of amalgamation or reconstruction or entering into any deed or arrangement with or composition for the benefit of any of its creditors.
    3. Upon one month’s written notice in respect of any contracted entered between Alpha Couriers and a customer for a period of one month or more in duration.

  13. Indemnity
    1. By accepting the Terms of Service and using the Service and the Application, the customer shall indemnify the Company and keep the Company indemnified against all demands, claims, action, proceedings, costs, charges or expenses including but not limited to penalties, storage charges, retrieval and administrative costs, duties and taxes incurred, suffered or sustained by us in connection with the Service we have provided.
  14. Miscellaneous
    1. Alpha Couriers shall under these conditions also include its appointed agents, sub-agents or part-time employees or contractors.
    2. Any business undertaken by Alpha Couriers is carried out subject to the conditions set out herein. Each condition shall deemed to be incorporated in any agreement whether written, oral or implied between Alpha Couriers and a customer.
    3. We reserve the rights to revise the Terms of Service at any time without prior notice.
    4. All agreements or arrangements made between Alpha Couriers and its customer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Singapore Law and brought within the jurisdiction of Singapore courts.
